Explore Beginner Classes at the Omaha Conservatory!
Studying at the Omaha Conservatory is a great way to improve musical skills while meeting new people on a similar path as you! Our classes introduce beginning students to instruments and basic music concepts in a group setting. Group classes for you or your student are a place to:
- Build confidence by showcasing your skills!
- Foster lasting friendships with classmates
- Motivate each other to get better
- Learn to work with others musically
- Expand your skillset
Ages 0 – 4
Bond with your little through music! This class offers a pressure-free and fun environment for kiddos to learn music through musical games and activities! Tuneful Tots is the perfect class to develop your budding musician’s skills early! Caregiver/parent attendance is required (one caregiver for each student participating).
Ages 5+
Designed for first-timers, this class will introduce you to the basics of guitar technique, chords and leads. Whether your dream is to play like classical great Andres Segovia, or you just want to back up your friends who sing or play pop or rock tunes, this is the place to start! Upon completion of this class, students will have a solid foundation of beginner skills.
Ages 5–12
This group piano experience is a great choice for students who are just beginning to tickle the ivories. This class is appropriate for brand new students with no prior experience, new piano students who are already taking individual lessons, or those who are interested in individual lessons. Parent/Caregiver attendance is mandatory for class. One consistent caregiver attends the whole class with their student.
Ages 5+
Designed for first-timers, Ukulele Explorers will introduce you to the basics of ukulele including chords, notes of the strings, strumming techniques, and more. Upon completion of this class, students will have a solid foundation of beginner skills.
Adults and Scholarly Teens
ReDiscover Music is a music listening, history, and discussion for adults and scholarly teens interested in learning about topics in music – including parents of Conservatory students! Content includes the origins of Western Music, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, music theory geared for those who love Classical Music and meeting other like-minded music enthusiasts.
