Conservatory students place at state music competition
Congrats to all Conservatory students who competed during the Nebraska chapter (NMTA) conference gathering of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) held at the University of Nebraska – Omaha earlier this month. Here’s some highlights:
Alina Hatfield won second place at the Junior Piano Competition; she studies piano with Anne Madison. Alexander Smith (cello, studying with Tim Strang) received second place while Morgan Bennett (violin, studying with Ruth Meints) received honorable mention in the senior division.
At the state level, Winston Schneider won first place in the Elementary Division Composing Competition, who studies with Dr. Kenneth Meints. Alexis Nothelfer tied for first place in the NMTA Junior Piano Competition; Luke Miles earned second place. (Alexis studies with Anne Madison, and Luke studies with Yulia Kalashnikova.)
Also of note: Dmitri “Dima” Shaposhnikov and Winston Schneider were selected to participate in the NMTA State conference master class with Ingrid Clarfield.
GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!
