Ken Meints currently serves as Orchestra Director for Westside High School and Middle School. His teaching experience spans the entire musical spectrum, from preschool general music to university courses in trombone, theory and performing ensembles. He teaches brass, composition, music theory and conducting at Omaha Conservatory of Music. Additionally, he is the Music Director of Orchestra Omaha, a community ensemble dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the community through high-quality orchestra concerts presented free to the public. He has experience conducting workshops and festival orchestras in Illinois, California, Iowa and Nebraska. He received his doctorate in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He holds a Master of Music in Trombone from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
What to expect in lessons with Dr. Meints:
- Learning begins from where the student enters the studio. Lessons are tailored toward the student’s abilities and interests. The lesson experience will build the skills necessary for success, with a focus on being the best musician you can be at any level!
