It’s our hope that money is never a barrier to outstanding musical education.
We at Omaha Conservatory of Music are grateful to a number of generous donors who have provided funding for financial aid assistance.
Financial aid is awarded on a rolling basis as funds are available, meaning applications are reviewed throughout the year. Students are notified once their application has been fully reviewed.
Currently, we have exhausted our financial aid for the 2024-25 Academic Year. However, we are actively seeking additional funding sources to provide more aid. Once we receive these additional funds, we will contact the families who have applied and are awaiting additional funds. Please note that these funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you wish to be placed on the list for consideration, please contact Admissions at admissions@omahacm.org or call the Programming Hub at 402-932-4978.
Consistent attendance at lessons, classes, or ensembles is required for students receiving financial aid. The Conservatory reserves the right to rescind the financial aid award to those who miss more than 5 lessons per Academic Year. Should a medical issue arise, a doctor’s note may be provided for consideration.
The Conservatory also reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction of any student who is delinquent in fulfilling his/her financial obligations not covered by financial aid at any time during the semester.
Our exceptional students often audition to participate in prestigious national and regional music camps, competitions, and workshops, such as Interlochen, Heifetz PEG, Sound Encounters, Encore, and Texas Strings Camp, as well as our own summer music camp.
These immersive experiences offer high-quality musical training and facilitate valuable connections with internationally recognized artists. These additional opportunities are also integral to supporting the future careers of our most talented students. The Ambassador Fund also fosters relationships with OCoM artist-faculty and other excellent artists and programs throughout the country.
Applications for Ambassador Funds are currently closed.
NOTE: This was the process for the 2024–2025 academic year. Stay tuned for information regarding 2025–2026 Merit Scholarship applications!
Merit Scholarships, awarded once per year, are based on the student’s demonstrated proficiency, discipline and commitment to excellence.
Please note: Students applying for a Merit Scholarship may also apply for financial aid. Some scholarships require students to demonstrate financial need. Not filling out the Omaha Conservatory’s financial aid application form could disqualify applicants from some awards. As a video is required, it is recommended you begin thinking about the best opportunity to capture a performance you’d like to submit. (Recitals are an excellent opportunity for this!) For any questions regarding the Merit Scholarship application process, please email scholarships@omahacm.org.
Merit Scholarship winners are announced by August 1. There may be a few special occasions throughout the year during which Merit Scholars will be expected to perform. They are expected to have a short selection (3–5 minutes) ready for such occasions. These dates are to be determined.
The Merit Scholarship application will be open until May 24, 2024.
VIDEO
This form also requires you submit a YouTube link to your video audition:
- Record a video (Up to 5 minutes in length) of a performance of a piece from memory. (Tip: Recitals provide an excellent opportunity to obtain such a recording.)
- Upload the video to YouTube, labeling with the name of the piece, movement, composer, and name of the student.
- Mark the video as “Unlisted.”
Named scholarships play a vital role in helping promising students secure the resources they need to achieve their potential.
Named scholarships not only support artistic and personal growth in talented young musicians; they also offer opportunities to make a personal statement about the importance of arts and education and to confer recognition, honor, and special status on an individual or organization.
