Note: These classes served as the curriculum for Suzuki Institute 2024 and are subject to change for 2025. Please refer to this section as an idea of what classes we may offer in 2025.

Core Classes

Each student at Omaha Conservatory of Music’s Suzuki Institute will take part in a masterclass, technique class, repertoire class, and large ensemble appropriate to their level and experience.

• Masterclass – 50-minute, semi-private lesson with 1-3 other students who are at a similar level. Each student takes turns having one-on-one instruction with the teacher while all other students observe.
• Technique Class – This is a class that focuses on developing both individual and ensemble skills on their instrument.
• Repertoire Class – This class focuses on learning Suzuki repertoire appropriate for specific levels and instruments. Every Repertoire class will perform on the final concert on July 12.
• Reading Orchestra – Students at Level 1 and up will be placed in an orchestra that will rehearse each day and perform on the final concert on July 12. In this class, students learn and polish their reading skills through exercises, games and learning orchestral repertoire. The student also develops chamber music skills such as listening, following, cueing and playing in an ensemble.

Electives

In addition to Core Classes, students will participate in enriching electives. Exciting new electives to be announced soon!

Suzuki Institute campers will be asked to submit a placement video for faculty to reference when creating camper schedules.

If your student must withdraw from Suzuki Institute, the $75 deposit is nonrefundable. Further details regarding withdrawal dates for Suzuki Institute 2025 will be available in January 2025.
