Mark your calendars! Our second annual Adult Musicians Retreat is happening June 23 and 24!
Formerly called Adult Strings Festival, this exciting weekend is now open to adult music students of all instruments. There will be playing opportunities for those who wish to play, and many special sessions for those who simply want to deepen their musical knowledge and socialize with fellow adult music enthusiasts.
Like last year, we’ll kick off the festival with a “dinner and show.” This will be a specially curated evening on Friday, June 23rd featuring a catered dinner for participants and their guests, followed by a concert given by the Conservatory’s own incredible Artist-Faculty.
Participants can look forward to:
- A delicious catered dinner to kick off the weekend
- An exciting concert featuring Omaha Conservatory of Music Artist-Faculty
- Sessions on yoga/movement for musicians, deep listening, rhythm improvisation, and other special topics in music appreciation
- Connecting with other like-minded adult music lovers
NEW THIS YEAR
There are now two ways to attend Adult Musicians Retreat:
- Sinfonia Players | Sinfonia players will play in a chamber ensemble and perform in an informal concert at the end of Day 2. Strings and piano students can register for Sinfonia. Musicians who choose Sinfonia should be able to read music.
- Andante | Andante is for adult musicians or music lovers of any caliber who play any instrument—or no instrument at all! Participants will attend all classes and workshops that don’t require playing and receive a ticket to the delicious catered dinner and exciting show on the first night of the festival. Meet with your musical peers to discuss, learn and network—playing not required!
Ages: For ages 18+ of all instruments and skill levels

Friday, June 23, 2023:
- 1:30-4:00p.m. | Sinfonia Players Classes & Workshops
- 4:30-5:45p.m. | Open Sinfonia Rehearsal (Andante participants may observe)
- 6:00p.m. | Dinner catered by Chef Around the Block
- 7:30p.m. | Sounds of Summer Concert
Saturday, June 24, 2023:
- 10:00a.m. – 12:45p.m. | Classes, Workshops, Rehearsals for all participants
- 12:45p.m. | Lunch
- 1:30p.m. | Classes, Workshops, Rehearsals for all participants
- 2:45p.m. | Concert
Cost:
-
- $140 for participants who want to play in a chamber ensemble and perform in an informal concert at the end of Day 2.
- $90 to attend the entire retreat and all the classes and workshops that don’t require playing (music appreciation, yoga and movement for musicians, etc)
- Both options include admission to the dinner and performance on the evening of the first day.
- Optional Add-ons:
- Retreat T-shirt: $15 Festival t-shirts are an excellent way to remember your time at the 2023 Adult Musicians Retreat. Order yours now, as they will not be available for purchase at the Festival.
- Extra Dinner & Show Tickets: $50 Retreat participants are welcome to bring friends or family with them to the dinner and show on the first night of the retreat. Extra tickets for them can be purchased at the time of registration or added on later.
- Refund/Withdrawal Policy:
- Admission and any add-ons (t-shirt, lunch, etc) to any OCoM festival are non-refundable.
