Meet Our Artist-Faculty: Lisa Nielsen [Violin/Viola]
Lisa Nielsen is one of Omaha Conservatory of Music’s violin & viola instructors. Having taught for over 20 years, she is active in developing and nurturing their music experience through solo performance and in chamber music and orchestra performances during the summer and throughout the year. As a professional violinist, she performs in the Omaha and Lincoln Symphonies and leads Classic Quartet, a professional freelance string quartet. She has performed with Mannheim Steamroller, and is a member of the Nebraska Chamber Symphony Orchestra. In the summer, she is a member of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra in Lakeside, Ohio. Ms. Nielsen holds a Bachelor or Music degree from the Mannes College of Music where she was a student of Shirley Givens, and holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where she was a student of Arnold Schatz.
If Lisa had to eat one thing for the rest of her life she would eat swiss cheese. Her favorite genre of movies are suspense movies. In her spare time, she loves to travel, playing the violin & teach and if she can combine all three – even better!
With an Artist-Faculty of almost forty instructors, Omaha Conservatory of Music will work with you no matter what your skill level is – whether you are a beginner or are proficient at your instrument! To meet our other instructors – click here!
