Juliet Yoshida
Violin
Juliet Yoshida has been a member of the Omaha Symphony since 2011. In addition to her orchestral work she is a frequent chamber music performer and has collaborated with Opera Omaha and ICE, Meadowlark Music Festival, and the Omaha Chamber Society.
Raised in Omaha, she began her violin studies at the age of 9. She earned her B.M. in Violin Performance at Vanderbilt University as a student of Carolyn Huebl and her M.M. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with Andrew Jennings. She plays on a violin by the contemporary violin maker Gregg Alf.
While not performing or teaching she enjoys her husband Tim Strang’s amazing cooking and hanging out with their son and miniature schnauzer.
What to expect in lessons with Juliet:
- Learning to play the violin is an exciting artistic journey for your child! I like to meet with parents to discuss how they can support their students on their journey so they feel prepared and confident for their lessons. Purchasing a violin can be overwhelming! I’m happy to help you choose a good instrument if you want to bring a couple in to play before purchasing. A well kept instrument makes all the difference when you are learning! Students will be expected to show up with their required shoulder rest and receive maintenance on their instrument if instructed.
