As the popularity of group Suzuki Instruction rises, acclaimed Suzuki Instructor Carey Beth Hockett, known for her expertise in group instruction, will look back at Book 1, through the special lens of group teaching. Participants trained through Suzuki Book 4 will have the opportunity to teach alongside Ms. Hockett in a practicum setting during the Institute. This course is open to violinists and cellists. This course is ten hours and requires zero hours of observation. Capacity is limited to 20 participants.

Building on all the skills learned in Suzuki Books 1-3, this course will dive into the new technical and musical challenges of Suzuki Book 4 with Ruth Meints. Learn how to develop well-balanced intermediate students who have a strong technical foundation and sense of musicianship required for playing future major concertos. While receiving training to teach Suzuki Book 4, participants will have the opportunity to observe Suzuki Institute classes and masterclasses, as well as classes and masterclasses taught by Suzuki trained instructors at The Omaha Conservatory of Music’s SoundWaves, a pre-college music intensive. This course is 15 hours and requires 8 hours of observation. Capacity is limited to 15 participants.

Building on all the skills learned in Suzuki Book 1-4, Violin Book 5 training will dive into the technical and musical challenges of Suzuki Book 5 with Ruth Meints. Learn how to develop well-balanced intermediate students who have a strong technical foundation and sense of musicianship required for playing future major concertos. All required observations will occur at OCoM, during SoundWaves, the Conservatory’s pre-college music intensive. This course is 15 hours and requires 8 hours of observation. Capacity is limited to 15 participants.

Once a program’s registration closes, registration requests must be emailed to camps@omahacm.org and are subject to space availability and administrative approval. There is an additional $50 fee for late registrations approved.

A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to submit your registration. An invoice for remaining tuition and any meal options you choose will be sent to you within a week.

Starting on Sunday July 16th, Omaha Conservatory of Music will cater lunch each day for those who opt into the lunch plan.
