Ian Rode-Sagastume, DM
Trumpet
A native of southeast Pennsylvania, Dr. Ian Rode-Sagastume is a professional trumpet player and music educator currently serving as artist faculty at the Omaha Conservatory of Music. He has performed with various ensembles throughout the United States including the New Mexico Philharmonic, Sante Fe Symphony, New Mexico Bach Society, Bloomington Bach Cantata Project, and the Tromba Mundi trumpet ensemble. Also active as a teacher, Ian has taught students and given masterclass throughout the country and internationally as an instructor for the Tunaweza Kimuziki program in Kenya. Recently, he completed a Doctor of Music from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He also holds degrees in Music Performance from the University of New Mexico and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. His primary teachers include Joey Tartell, Dr. Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski, Dr. John Marchiando, and Dr. Kris Kwapis.
